THE STORY
Fall is the time of year when we are simultaneously awed by the grandiose and soothed by the comforts of little moments. This image aims to marry both. The stunning fall colors and their energetic reflection on a stream demand and hold our attention. And yet, here is a meditative moment, an autumnal vignette of the grand wonderland that Oregon’s Silver Falls become this time of year. Unable to withstand the call of the magnificent plethora of falls, most visitors walked right by me as I stood here, spellbound by the simple way autumn painted its colorful glory upon the moving water, as my heart filled with the kind of joy only fall days seem to be able to conjure up.
