THE STORY

As I drove up the dusty country road, a scene straight out of Albert Bierstadt’s dreams unfolded in front of me. Bierstadt, a fellow German American, and his sweeping landscape paintings of the American West have always inspired me on my creative journey. Now, here I stood, the Rocky Mountain High pulsing through my entire being — just like it must have for Bierstadt back then — as the light of the setting sun turned Owl Creek Pass, this Colorado marvel, into a dreamlike vision. Jubilantly, I pressed the shutter button — the allure of these wild Western lands had come to life right in front of my eyes once again.
