THE STORY OF "TIME STANDS STILL"
If you have not been able to tell by now, I am incredibly drawn to imagery showcasing not just natural beauty, but also man’s small place in it and the adversity that those who choose such a life have to overcome. Now, almost certainly, this tiny cabin does not see some rugged mountain man, or woman, live in it year round. But that does not decrease the spurt of imagination setting off immediately by such a scene. Tell me: Can you not smell the freshly-brewed coffee over the stove? Can you not hear the squeaky hatch as the stove gets fed with more wooden fuel, setting off that comforting firework of crackles?
This may not be someone’s home, but it most certainly awakens all our senses of what home can be, what home should be: That place of warmth, of security, of retreat. A place where we come together to cherish the good times of the day, a place of light in the dark, a place of love, of present, of comfort and safety. A place of belonging, a place where time stands still.
Don’t you see all of those things right here?
