THE STORY OF "LAND'S END"

A decision’s impetus, we are taught from the days of our wobbly first steps, is to attach clarity and purpose to those steps, a learnt self-reliance that allows us to start walking without holding on to another’s hand.

Making things decidedly and appreciatively more complicated, where my life got the most intriguing so far was in those moments when my decisions cast me forward into an uncertain future, when they removed clarity and replaced it with a spirit of exploration, of thinking bigger than navigating any one element, any one step. All of a sudden, the clarity and purpose of a decision were disbanded, uncoupled, potentially at odds, even.

In that mindset, where the solid ground under our feet ends, possibility and hope do not. What waited beyond the horizon, invisible, potentially unachievable, yet with an exigent and magnetic draw, demanded all-encompassing heed. All of a sudden, there was but one decision: Do I follow the call of curiosity, braving the thicket of obstacles for what could wait on the other side, or do I choose clarity, potentially ignoring my purpose? I choose purpose, whenever I possibly can.

MY ART & YOUR INSPIRATION GIVE BACK

I am a proud member of 1% for the Planet and its mission of protecting our only home. The concept is simple: The land has given me much, so I want to give back. That’s why I have committed to donate 1% of every sale of every artwork to select nonprofits that are working to protect the land shown in your piece. That means, over its life in my gallery, LAND'S END will generate roughly $2000 in donations supporting the BIG SUR LAND TRUST.
