THE STORY OF "TUNNEL VISION"
I have always believed that what sustains us during the hard times in life are our passions. To excel at what it is that drives us requires not just an acute awareness of the things that we love doing most in life, however. Without a devotion to the goals we set, those goals will remain out of reach for most of us. There are so many things beyond our control that determine our endeavors’ successes that effort may simply never be one of them.
From an early age, I’ve always pursued my most innate passions with a fervent drive. The simple truth is that in order to come out ahead, that inextinguishable flame of desire seems to be the baseline. The unparalleled Mary Oliver once wrote: “Attention is the beginning of devotion.” As a fine art photographer, attention is the other key ingredient that helps me take my images to the next level. Seeing beauty where others walk past, putting thought and context to those experiences, are two core practices on my photographic journey. So, when I name this image “TUNNEL VISION,” it is meant as an acknowledgement of the hard work put in by passionate people everywhere pursuing their dreams with everything they have.
